Mizuno Contender Rijksmuseum, a wonderful collaboration between Mizuno and the Rijksmuseum as an ode to the largest Vermeer exhibition ever

Once again Mizuno has chosen again to transform a sneaker from its lifestyle collection into a masterpiece. Result: the limited edition Contender Rijksmuseum, inspired by Vermeer’s Milkmaid. The design of this shoe is characterized by subdued and subtle colors and a lot of attention to the hidden details of this beautiful work of art. A collector's item for the true art lover.

Johannes Vermeer is one of the most famous Dutch painters of the 17th century and known for his intimate domestic scenes with phenomenal light reproduction. For the Contender Rijksmuseum of Mizuno, every effort has been made to respect the essence of Vermeer's works. The shoe has calm colors and is made of rich materials such as premium mesh and suede. On the shoe you will find wonderful references to the blue fabric worn by the Milkmaid and the Delft blue tiles with cupids that you also see in the painting. The tongue is printed with the Milkmaid herself, in homage to the masterpiece.
