From iconic Ukiyo-e paintings to the recent golden age of horror movies, Japan has always been a place where strange tales come to life in many surprising ways. Monsters of the Japanese folklores, Yokai can take many different forms, from the scariest Yurei that inspired modern horror movies to the wacky haunted umbrellas, sandals or lanterns. Focusing on our 2000s iconic Wave Rider 10, the Yokai pack is created for sneaker lovers. Among details and finishes, we hid a unique embroidery under the tongue mesh layer that our sneaker fans will be able to cut to free the monster behind. For this particular Wave Rider 10 we took inspiration from Gashadokuro – the giant Skeleton made famous through Ukiyo-e paintings.
