Surbiton hockey club
Surbiton hockey club was founded in 1874, establishing it the second oldest hockey club in the world. They are the reigning champions of both the women’s and men’s Premier Leagues – the women have triumphed for each of the last seven years and the men for three out of the last four years. <br><br> The first teams are packed with international stars, but Surbiton is a club with players of all standards, boasting well over 1000 members and including 50 junior teams. <br><br> Mizuno is proud to sponsor Surbiton Hockey Club, proving all training & competition apparel as well as seeing many of the players wearing the specialty hockey shoes.
Throughout the year, Mizuno has teamed up with J-League side Nagoya Grampus to drop a series of capsule collections which pay tribute to the club’s iconic ‘93 jersey. Before the final whistle blows on the project, HANON has decided to step into the spot and put their spin on it.
The anxiously awaited second edition of the collaboration between Mizuno and Hajime Sorayama, is set to drop in Europe and the US on the 5th of November 2021.

To celebrate our Japanese heritage, we have once again collaborated with the Rijksmuseum to create 2 special edition shoes for the 2021 TCS Amsterdam Marathon. Taking inspiration from multiple elements within the Rijksmuseum’s Asian Pavilion which is home to a variety of sculptures, Buddhas, and kimonos, brings forth a harmonious mix between the Japanese tradition and a runner’s journey throughout the marathon.
The Mizuno Contender takes us back to the legacy of sports, performance, and the 90's culture. The contender we worked on is an invitation to travel, from Paris to Tokyo. The first skin, in corduroy, is inspired by the fashion capital, its subway, freestones, and architecture. The second skin in canvas, reminds us of the Japanese Cherry blossom season and the colours of Tokyo. There are two options: Let the pair wear out over time or use your creative instinct to combine the two worlds.
