In 2002 Bereikte Rivaldo de legendarische status met het Braziliaanse nationale elftal. Zijn schoenen zouden een iconisch paar Mizuno voetbalschoenen worden.
Rivaldo had een groot vertrouwen in Mizuno’s kenmerkende vakmanschap en pasvorm. Onze uitdaging met hem was om een fusie te creëren van een superieure pasvorm en innovatieve technologie. Boven al het andere, was de fusie van Mizuno Wave Technologie en voetbalschoenen een uitdaging die gepaard ging met vele moeilijkheden. Succes werd bereikt door middel van herhaalde testen met Rivaldo. Deze schoenen zijn speciaal ontwikkeld om Rivaldo zijn prestaties naar een hoger niveau te tillen tijdens het kampioenschap in 2002.
In 2002 hielp Rivaldo zijn thuisland bij het worden van de eerste natie die vijf keer wereldkampioen werd, de Penta Campeão. Dit is weergegeven door de vijf gouden sterren die op de tong van de schoen zijn geborduurd. De schoen legt de fundering van de ontwikkeling van Mizuno voetbalschoenen vandaag de dag. Dit is gebaseerd op de fusie van vakmanschap en technologie.
In this third edition, the upper is improved for an even better fit and breathability, whilst the midsole is completely reconstructed to incorporate the latest Mizuno Running Technology.

What is new on the Wave Sky 3?
The updates to the upper of the Wave Sky 3 are all about improving fit, making it as comfortable as possible. We use two layered Engineered Aerohug mesh that softly hugs the foot for a secure and adaptive fit. The mesh patterns convey a clean and seamless design with a sense of speed.
By combining two innovative midsole technologies - Mizuno Foam Wave and XPOP – Mizuno creates an extremely comfortable, stable and flexible platform that will make you enjoy every mile running on the Wave Sky 3. Additionally, we increase the number of flex grooves in the outsole and add lateral support to the heel.
