HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FEET

Wear the type of socks you'll wear with your shoes and measure feet in the afternoon (feet typically swell during the day). Distribute weight evenly before measuring.

Step 1

Stand up straight on a hard surface with your heel against the wall and a piece of blank paper taped to the floor, flush against the wall beneath your foot.

Step 2

Have someone mark the longest part of your foot on the paper with a pen or pencil, or mark it yourself if necessary. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.

Step 3

Measure the length of your feet from heel to your longest toe (referred to as heel-to-toe length). Use the longest length to determine your size in the chart above.

THE JUDOGIS MIZUNO RANGE

To choose the right judogi, there are two criteria to consider: the size and level of judo practice. In general, we advise you always to take a size above your ideal size (about 3 to 10 cm more than your size according to the models). Depending on your level, the thickness of the canvas your judogi should be more or less thick to resist the onslaught of your opponents. The higher your level of judo practice, the higher the grammage / m² of your judogi must be. An expert adult competitor will choose a model with a canvas between 750 and 900 g / m².

SIZE OF JUDOGIS

For more details, find all sizes of judogis and kimonos from the Mizuno range below. For Yawara, Yusho and Shiai Gi models, we have created a Size / Weight chart to help you select the model that will suit you best between Japanese sizes 1 and 7.

How to measure

SIZE OF BELTS

To choose the right size for your judo belt, there is a formula. Take your waist, multiply it by two and add 95 cm. If you are between two sizes, take the one above. This formula takes into account the standard of the International Judo Federation which says that it is necessary to let the belt exceed 20 to 30 cm from the knot. Example of a judoka with a waist of 73 cm: (73 x 2) + 95 = 241 cm. We recommend a size 2.5 judo belt.
