FC Augsburg 2023/2024

Mizuno has presented the new FC Augsburg (FCA) home and third kit for the 2023/24 season. For the first time, the logo of the Japanese company adorns the jersey collection of the Fuggerstädter, which reflects the symbiosis between tradition and modernity under the motto "The new old FCA".

The jersey presentation took place at the branch of FCA's exclusive partner VR-Bank Handels- und Gewerbebank in Augsburg's city centre. In addition to committee members, partners and sponsors, a few fans also celebrated the launch of the new jersey with the guests. At 2 p.m., the part everyone had been waiting for followed: Two players from the FCA professional team, two players from the FCA women's team and two young players from the Paul-Renz-Akademie presented the new home and third jerseys to the eager audience.

In the new home jersey, a sense of tradition meets an abstracted elegance of the stadium façade. The traditional stripe, which runs vertically down the centre front, and the discreetly embossed facade elements of the WWK ARENA form a noble unit on and off the pitch. The traditional stripe has its origins in the 70s, in the days of club icon Helmut Haller. The founding year 1907 is embossed in red at the back of the neck. FCA is also committed to its roots in terms of colour and prefers to play its home games in white again.

With its black base colour, the third jersey represents the maximum contrast to the home kit and is thus intended to symbolise the WWK ARENA at night. The front features a red and green print that increases in transparency towards the top and is based on the luminous stadium facade. At the back of the neck. "1907" is embossed in white – in reference to the founding year of FCA.

The kits of the new collection will be produced out of 100% recyclable and breathable polyester. In the course of its sustainability concepts, FCA and Mizuno want to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint together.

Mark Kaiway, Mizuno’s Head of Sports EMEA, is excited about the partnership. Regarding the agreement with the club he says: “ We are delighted to announce our partnership with F.C Augsburg. With the club’s strong identity, this partnership is key for the development of our position in the football category in Germany. F.C. Augsburg has a passionate fan base and we look forward to a successful future ahead, by servicing the team with our unique, innovative and technical products in hopes of the team improving their performance on and off the pitch.”

"We are very proud of our new customized jerseys and look forward to wearing Mizuno jerseys for the first time this season. The design of the jerseys is modern and traditional at the same time and represents the values of the club one hundred percent“, said Michael Ströll, General Manager at FC Augsburg. "Each jersey has its own story and was designed and developed with a lot of heart and soul. Through this individuality, we want to express our connection to our fans and to our roots.

All fans will have the opportunity to purchase the new home or third jersey for the first time at the Augsburg Summer Nights. Next, the new kits are available from 29.06.2023 at 2 pm (CET) in the club’s in the club’s Fanshops and online store and will soon be widely available on Mizuno.com and through a selective list of retailers.
