THE INSPIRATION

Drawing inspiration from 50s pop art, Nagai cultivated his distinctive style, incorporating deep blue skies, relaxed ocean side setting and sleepy night-time cityscapes into his work. Nagai started gaining popularity in Japan during the early 1980s, with the rise of the City Pop Culture, where he emerged as a key figure. Each style within this collaboration is intricately linked to an important element of Nagai’s art, characterized by vibrant and colourful designs.
